The legal basis for processing server logs is the legitimate interest of the Controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in ensuring security and technical diagnostics. Data in local storage (LocalStorage) remains exclusively on the User's device and is never received or processed by the Controller — Art. 9 GDPR therefore does not apply to this data.

Server logs are stored for a limited period (up to 30 days) as full technical logs or indefinitely in anonymised form.

The Website does not use cookies. No tracking, marketing or analytics files are installed on the User's device.
The website d3calc.com uses browser local storage (LocalStorage) for purely functional purposes, only after the User's freely given and explicit consent (opt-in mechanism). Without consent, no data is stored. Data is stored exclusively on the User's device – it is not transmitted to the server or to the Controller – and can be deleted at any time by clearing browser data.
d3calc.com: After giving consent in the modal window, the User's calculator inputs (including health-related data such as body weight, age, dosage) and application preferences are stored.The website d3calc.com uses a Service Worker that enables the application to work offline. For this purpose, the browser stores static files (CSS, JavaScript, fonts, icons) as well as rendered page content (HTML output) locally in its cache. This mechanism does not process any personal data and works analogously to the standard browser cache. The data can be deleted at any time via browser settings for d3calc.com.
The Website offers the option to generate a link to share results. These links do not require registration or the provision of personal data. The link is copied to the clipboard; on devices that support it (in particular mobile devices), the operating system's native share dialog is additionally opened.
d3calc.com: The link contains the entered calculator data encoded exclusively in the URL fragment (after the # sign). This fragment is not transmitted to the d3calc.com server and does not appear in server logs. The URL may contain the User's health data (including body weight, age, vitamin D dosage). When sharing via external services (e.g. messengers, social networks), the full URL – including the encoded data – may be transmitted to their servers. The User shares the link consciously and voluntarily.User data processed by the Controller is not subject to automated decision-making or profiling.
The Controller reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy, provided that Users' rights will not be restricted. Information about changes will be posted on the Website. Matters not regulated herein are governed by the GDPR and applicable German law.
